A phobia is an irrational, overwhelming and intense fear of an object, animal, place, situation or noise. The most common phobias are spiders, dogs, needles, flying, snakes, dentists and heights, but it can be almost anything. You knows it is irrational but you cannot help your response.
Your brain is simply keeping you safe, it may of originally been triggered by a simple event in your childhood, but each time you run away or freeze and nothing happens to you, your brain says “Great, well done, I protected you. we know what we need to do to from now on.” The only thing is that each time you do this, your fear is reinforced.
It took just 2 sessions with Karen to cure a bowel problem I've suffered with for nearly 20 years.

There are three types of phobias:
Specific Phobia - fear of specific object or situation - spiders, heights, claustrophobia, flying.
Agoraphobia - fear of anything outside of a particular safe area.
Social phobia - fear of social situations or fear of others opinions - exams, public speaking.
Hypnotherapy can help you to change the way you think about the thing you fear, we interrupt the automatic way you think and instead install a new way to respond and think, all whilst in a safe relaxed place. Some specific phobias can be released in just one or two sessions.
