HOW HYPNOTHERAPY WORKS

Does Hypnotherapy work? How does hypnotherapy work? These are the most common questions I get asked. I've set up a few helpful points below to see if hypnotherapy is right for you.

Firstly, I will discuss with you, in confidence, what you want to achieve. I will then ask you some questions to gather the relevant information that will help us to decide on the best therapy plan for you.

I will explain to you the benefits of hypnotherapy and how it can be beneficial to you. Hypnosis is a very relaxing state and I will explain how you enter into trance naturally many times a day.

I will ask you to close your eyes and lead you into a state where your body and mind can completely relax and let go of any tension. You will hear my voice and cannot be made to do or say anything you don't want to.

After a session, you can hope to feel uplifted, lighter and very relaxed. You will be emailed a personal recording for you to listen to between sessions.

The practice of hypnotherapy can facilitate change in a positive way. It allows us to learn to deal effectively with a number of things - e.g. anxiety, phobia, unwanted habits etc.

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind; people are often surprised during a session of hypnosis that they hear every word and could get up and walk out of the room at any moment if they wished to do so. You may not feel any different, just very calm and relaxed. Hypnosis is similar to drifting off to sleep at night, that stage when you are not quite awake and not quite asleep. You may feel a sense of weightlessness or you may feel heaviness as all your muscles relax. Everyone experiences it differently but generally people are surprised at just how pleasant and relaxing it feels. You will be in complete control at all times and cannot be made to do anything you don't want to.
A general therapy session last 1hr. In some cases longer sessions may be required and this would be discussed and agreed beforehand.
